About Tony…

107Tony
…has spent 19 years in the tourism/hospitality industry. From  2005 till 2013 I managed the marketing department for a resort group across all platforms including website content, database communication and correspondence, PR, shows, events and industry networking. I have also guided in Kruger National Park as well as managed lodges in the Drakensberg as well as a remote beach lodge in Mozambique.
The experience and knowledge I gained with Hospitality & Tourism Grading adds great value and has given me a fresh and objective outlook in terms of internal standards and services within hospitality.
Traveling…well I’ve done a bit of that too.
I grew up in the Eastern Cape and have spent many holidays on the Wild Coast when 4×4 travel was almost unheard of…and yet we still got there and back. I have traveled South Africa far & wide., lived in the fairest Cape, Mpumalanga Lowveld,  Free State (Maloti Drakensberg) and Johannesburg. Oh yes…and a spell on the Mozambique coast where we fished and dived regularly. Speaking of diving…I have been diving the Maputaland coast since 1989 and spent many holidays travelling the area with my 2 sons who also grew up to love the ocean and the great outdoors. I have also done regular trips to the UK and Germany where I attended international Dive and Travel Shows as well as a trip to the Ukraine and Holland.
I am now living on the Dolphin Coast of Kwa Zulu Natal with my life partner, Lize. In my spare time I plan to do what I have always been told to do and that is…write; I will be writing travel columns,  establishment reviews, travel news, and advisories with a particular focus on South Africa, Africa and the industry in general. And of course, assisting and advising guests and prospective travelers with their travel plans within South Africa.

I am looking forward to the next chapter in my career in this industry and invite colleagues to continue communicating with me with a view to developing the industry in a meaningful, viable and sustainable way.

Oh yes…we also plan to do as much scuba diving, traveling and sailing as possible.
